Runners from 150 countries are pounding Gotham pavement in the New York City Marathon as I write. And the final sprint is underway in the American election.
The Sunday news shows have revealed their latest polls. The huge surprise is Iowa, based on a Des Moines Register poll, that shows Vice President Harris leading former President Trump 47% to 44% among likely voters. Under a headline reading “Kamala Harris leapfrogs Donald Trump to take lead near election day,” the Register says the Iowa poll, “shows Kamala Harris picking up support from women to surpass Donald Trump in a ruby-red state he has won twice.”
